About This Album
A ceremony at visag's hotel park — first looks, a baraat that wouldn't quit, and a vidaai that left everyone standing still in the golden hour.
September in visag settles into a softer kind of light, and the hotel park wore it well — long lawns, old trees, a lawn-side mandap with the sun dropping right behind it. We arrived early to walk the property with the couple, mapping where the light would fall at 4pm and again at 6. The groom's side was already loud with dhol practice when we pulled in. That first hour is always about quiet observation: how they hold hands, who cries first, which uncle can't stop laughing. It sets the rhythm for everything we shoot after. By the time guests started filling the lawn, we knew exactly where to stand.
The baraat came in hot — drums, cousins, a groom who couldn't stop grinning — and we ran the whole length of it, which is where the live pics really earn their keep. The Ceremony itself was gentler: a first look behind the old banyan that had both of them shaking, then the pheras under a canopy of string lights. We'd shot their pre-wedding shoot two months earlier in the same park, so there was a nice continuity to it, same trees, different nerves. The reception ran late with speeches and a dance floor that never emptied, and by the time we packed up after the marriage rituals, our cards were full. The vidaai undid everyone — including us.
Three of us shot this one, which matters more than people realize — one on the couple, one on the room, one chasing the edges where the real stuff happens. We kept it Candid & Natural throughout, no posed lineups, no interrupting a father mid-hug for a photo he didn't ask for. The film-style editing came later, and the September light in visag made that part easy; golden hour did half the work. What stayed with me was the quiet after the vidaai, when the lawn emptied and the couple just stood there. If you're planning a ceremony in visag, that's the kind of moment worth having someone there for.
